The main strategy of this hunt will be hunting over baits in the designated Wilderness area on the Medicine Bow National Forest. The outfitter/landowner also has an additional 15,000 private acres bordering the National Forest that can be baited and hunted. Bears from northern Colorado that are over-populated move into this area. It has a good population of black bears and about 25-35% of them are of color phase (blonde, cinnamon, brown). If the opportunity presents itself, the Spot n Stalk method will come into play. This outfitter also hunts elk, mule deer and also hunts antelope in the famous “Red Desert” area.
