This hunt is out of a backcountry camp that requires a 4 to 5 hour horseback ride. It is a migration hunt where you sit on time tested migration routes and wait for the mule deer coming out of the high country. Bucks average about 150 to 180, but sometimes a real honker comes along. Hunters will apply for Region F on the Wyoming Game and Fish website between January 1 and May 31. For every hunter booked, it will lower the price $500 per hunter: 1 hunter $7,000, 2 hunters $6,500, 3 hunters $6,000, 4 hunters $5,500, and 5 or 6 hunters $5,000. A deer hunter might also consider purchasing an OTC black bear license for $373 as the bears are active and fattening up for hibernation. A harvest fee would apply. You will see grizzlies, but currently Wyoming does not have a season for grizzly bears.
